I'm a Japanese woman living in Japan, married to an American partner. This blog is my way of figuring out my own household budget first: spending, bills, saving, investing, and the small money choices that shape daily life.
日本在住の日本人女性で、アメリカ人パートナーと結婚しています。このブログは、まず私自身の家計を整えるために、支出、固定費、貯金、投資、日々のお金の選択を整理していく場所です。
Over time, I hope these notes also become a bridge to better money conversations with my partner. For now, I am starting with what I can understand and improve myself.
いずれは、パートナーとも家計について自然に話せるようになりたいと思っています。今はその準備として、まず自分で理解できること・改善できることから始めています。
Background / 保有資格
I have studied bookkeeping and basic personal finance to better understand my own household money. These qualifications help me read numbers more calmly, but they do not make this blog professional financial advice.
自分の家計をより理解するために、簿記やお金の基礎を勉強してきました。数字を落ち着いて見る助けにはなっていますが、このブログの内容は専門的な金融アドバイスではありません。

- Bookkeeping Grade 2 — July 2021 / 簿記2級（2021年7月取得）

What Kakeibo & Co. is about / このブログについて
Kakeibo (家計簿) is a Japanese method of tracking household money. It's not just about saving — it's about noticing what money is doing in everyday life. The "& Co." part is about learning with others: readers, partners, families, and anyone trying to make money feel less confusing.
家計簿は、日本にある家庭のお金管理の方法です。ただ節約するためではなく、毎日の暮らしの中でお金がどう動いているかに気づくためのもの。「& Co.」には、読者、パートナー、家族、そしてお金を少しでもわかりやすくしたい人たちと一緒に考えていきたい、という意味を込めました。
Kakeibo & Co. is a bilingual-minded blog, but not every article is written in exactly the same language style. Some posts are Japanese-first with short English summaries, some are English-first for foreign residents in Japan, and some are written more fully in both languages when the topic is useful for international couples to read together.
Kakeibo & Co. は、英語と日本語の両方を意識したブログです。ただし、すべての記事を同じ形で日英併記にするのではなく、テーマや読者に合わせて言語のバランスを変えています。日本語読者向けの記事は日本語メイン＋英語要約、日本在住の外国人向けの記事は英語メイン、国際カップルで一緒に読みたいテーマは日英併記、という形で、読みやすさを優先していきます。
